Omron NJ

PLC’s

The Omron NJ series controllers allow for seamless integration of logic, motion, vision, networking and safety within Omron’s high speed processor; all communicating over built-in Ethernet/IP and EtherCAT networks. The NJ is designed to communicate and is configured to control up to 64 axis of motion, vision, slice I/O, SQL database capability, and even Robot control using Sysmac studio software. NJ-series controllers use CJ modules for local I/O and EtherCAT remote I/O.

Omron also offers the well-established CJ series of PLC, and the CP1 series brick micro-PLC’s — many of which can also control several axis of motion and various Ethernet and field-bus communication options. These PLC’s are configured using CX-ONE software.

Omron CS1 processors and I/O are available supporting legacy systems, and for simple stand-alone control systems the ZEN programmable relay can be considered.

Process Controllers

Several series of single and multiple loop Omron process and temperature controller are offered, including DIN rail mount (shown), and panel mount (1/4, 1/8, and 1/16 DIN). Various input and output types are supported, and most controllers include a faceplate with display/keypad for configuration or optional software can be used. Where PID control is not needed, thermocouple monitoring relays and panel meters are also available.

Remote I/O

Omron remote I/O is available in a wide variety of industrial protocols including Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, FSOE (safety), Profibus-DP, Profinet, Mechatrolink, Devicenet and Componet.  MCC also carries remote I/O which operates over Sercos, CANopen, Modbus/TCP, BACnet, Interbus and other fieldbus protocols. Choose between IP67 packaging for mounting directly on the machine, or DIN rail mount in an enclosure.

Networking

For industrial networking applications, commercial grade switches may not survive and switches from PLC makers can be expensive. These network components must operate secure and reliably in extreme environments, support industrial protocols such as Ethernet/IP and Profinet, and be easily configurable by plant engineers and IT without creating conflict with existing network infrastructure.  Moxa addresses those challenges with its complete offering of unmanaged, smart, and managed switches and easy to use MX Config software coupled with free phone support. RJ-45, wireless, cellular WAN, and fiber options are offered, many with -40 to 70 degree C operation.

HMI

Color HMI screens are available in screen sizes from 5 inch to 15 inch and most communicate over Ethernet, although other protocols are available. Drivers to communicate with Omron, Rockwell Automation, and Siemens as well as a long list of other controllers are available. Some models also offer integrated control and onboard i/o, eliminating the need for a separate PLC. Smaller monochrome and text displays, some with integrated keypads, are also available where simplicity and compactness are desired.

Industrial PC’s

Nematron industrial PC’s and Monitors are available as fanless DIN-rail mount node without a display up to 1680X1050 22” flat screen display. Touch screen, integrated keypad and sun-light readable are available, and although most models include a bezel and are intended to be installed in a NEMA 4/12 enclosure on the plant floor, they can be provided with a NEMA-1 enclosure for use in less challenging environments. Extended temperature ranges, class I div II, C-UL-US and greater consistency of design over time are among the features sought-after in the Nematron industrial computers.
